Acceptable Use Policy

UnblockingAPI is built to help developers access public web data through a reliable API. This Acceptable Use Policy explains what is and is not allowed when using UnblockingAPI.

By using UnblockingAPI, you agree to use the service responsibly, lawfully and in accordance with our Terms of Service.

1. Public web data only

UnblockingAPI is designed for public web data.

You may use UnblockingAPI to fetch publicly accessible web pages where you have a lawful basis and the right to do so.

You may not use UnblockingAPI to access, collect, copy or process data in a way that violates applicable law, third-party rights, website terms, privacy rules or this policy.

2. No unauthorized access

You may not use UnblockingAPI to access systems, pages, accounts, APIs or data that you are not authorized to access.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • private or logged-in content without permission
  • pages behind authentication unless you have authorization
  • paywalled content without authorization
  • admin panels, dashboards or internal systems
  • content protected by access controls
  • attempts to bypass technical access restrictions in an unauthorized way

3. No personal data harvesting

You may not use UnblockingAPI to harvest, collect or enrich personal data in a way that violates applicable data protection laws or privacy rights.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • mass collection of personal profiles
  • scraping emails, phone numbers or personal contact details for spam or unsolicited outreach
  • collecting sensitive personal data
  • building people-search databases without a lawful basis
  • collecting data about children
  • processing personal data without required notices, rights handling or legal basis

4. No spam, fraud or abusive activity

You may not use UnblockingAPI for:

  • spam
  • phishing
  • fraud
  • malware
  • credential stuffing
  • account takeover attempts
  • fake account creation
  • ad fraud
  • click fraud
  • harassment
  • surveillance
  • doxxing
  • illegal monitoring
  • evasion of bans or platform enforcement

Or any activity intended to harm, deceive or exploit others.

5. No excessive or harmful traffic

You may not use UnblockingAPI to send traffic that is excessive, harmful, disruptive or abusive.

This includes:

  • denial-of-service activity
  • intentionally overloading third-party websites
  • ignoring reasonable rate limits
  • repeatedly targeting the same website in a harmful way
  • using automation in a way that degrades third-party services
  • attempting to evade our own rate limits, fair use controls or abuse systems

6. No infringement of third-party rights

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of UnblockingAPI does not infringe third-party rights.

You may not use UnblockingAPI to copy, store, reproduce, redistribute or commercially exploit content in violation of copyright, database rights, contractual rights, confidentiality obligations, privacy rights or other applicable rights.

7. No prohibited targets or high-risk use without approval

Some use cases may require additional review, verification or custom limits.

We may require approval before allowing:

  • high-volume scraping
  • sensitive targets
  • unusual workloads
  • regulated data
  • financial, health, legal or employment-related data
  • personal data processing
  • public-sector or law-enforcement-related use
  • security testing or monitoring

We may refuse or restrict any use case at our discretion.

8. Fair use

Some UnblockingAPI plans include unmetered monthly requests.

Unmetered does not mean unlimited or unrestricted.

Plans are limited by concurrency, hourly throughput, bandwidth fair use, abuse prevention, technical capacity and this Acceptable Use Policy.

We may apply additional limits, throttling, verification requirements or custom terms if usage is unusually heavy, sensitive, abusive or harmful.

9. Account verification

We may require account verification for production access, high-volume workloads, sensitive targets, unusual traffic patterns or suspected abuse.

Verification may include business email verification, identity or company verification, billing verification, use-case review or other reasonable checks.

10. Monitoring and enforcement

We may monitor usage patterns, logs, traffic volume, error rates, target domains and other service data to operate the service, prevent abuse, enforce this policy and protect third parties.

If we believe your use violates this policy, we may:

  • throttle or limit requests
  • block specific targets
  • require verification
  • suspend API keys
  • suspend or terminate accounts
  • refuse service
  • report unlawful activity where required
  • cooperate with valid legal requests

11. Reporting abuse

If you believe UnblockingAPI is being used abusively or unlawfully, contact us at:

Please include:

  • the affected website or service
  • timestamps if available
  • request logs or examples if available
  • why you believe the activity is abusive
  • your contact details

We review abuse reports and take appropriate action where necessary.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and may notify users where appropriate.
